The Hertz cars with the Ford carb C6ZF-F, were they also rated at the 306 HP for real or for advertising?  The video says 306 HP, but 6S1882 should have a C6ZF-F carb.  My understanding is the 306 was with the Holley 715 LIST 3259 carb.

   Cory ,306 was with the 715. 477 had a 715 , not an Autolite. "Some time" after it , the Autolite was used for drive ability or anti theft purposes , the "story" varies. The HP rating was not adjusted because these were not sold to the public , just Hertz. The substitution was not "advertised".
  477 ( and 476) also had a regular Mustang hood latch as well as hood pins.

When I bought 6S550, in 1967 it was just like new. Had 3300 miles on it. Hood had no pins, and the hood blew off the next day.Ron
Hood pins were a commonly stolen back in the day. Many replaced them with the small master locks because they got tired of replacing and for extra security.
I still have the locks I put on 843 in my toolbox. They were to keep people from stealing anything under the hood. I used to leave the keys in one of the locks while I checked oil etc just to be sure it was fastened down before I drove it. Figured that out right after the original glass steel hood blew up. I did find an all steel one for $75 to replace it with.

Pins gone missing is also the reason that in recent years since the repro 67 style type with made on lanyards came available have found their way on 65 and 66 street cars. They have been out there repro for about 25-30 years now so many not knowing any better accept them as original with no reason to think otherwise.
