I was just sent a p.m. asking to measure the thread on the tires ?

I do not have a tire gauge.

What I did is get a penny and insert it into all the threads and they pretty much are all the same.

All the tires look very new and in good condition.

When we purchased the car it came off transport. Then into my garage. Next morning we drove it to Costco about 10 miles, purchased a new set of radials tires, mounted on different rims.

Again tires and rims look very good and would be a excellent addition to any Shelby or Mustang.

I don't use any of that, I have asked a friend to let me use his antique tire gauge

If it gets here when it gets here, I will measure and post

As previously requested, I had been asked to measure the thread on the tires by a possible purchaser but did not have a thread gauge tool.

After using this sophisticated device, here are the results:


11/ 32 or 0.344 inch or 8.73 or just look at Lincoln head on the penny

We hope this provides ample information to all that need it

We have been asked are the tires new ?

Yes, no, maybe

We truly don't know as we recently purchased a 1966 GT350H and these tires and rims where on it.

They look new, they have very good threads on all four of them.

They even have those rubber hairs that are associated with new tires

You know looking at that fancy widget thread gauge thingy,  it gives the same depth measurement as the old Lincoln penny

On another note take a look at the center section of the tire,  the center rubber rib ( circled in red ) has not even been worn

Answering a p.m. :

Again all indications lead us to believe that the tires where a recently purchased before we acquired the vehicle.

Looking at the thread depth, the vent spews or tire hairs still on them. They have look like they have very low mileage on them.
