No. The earlier heads flow better out of the box and have more potential.

The 80-s small block heads are a sort of hybrid between the performance potential of the '60s and the flexibility necessary to comply with emissions requirements.

You can get around 350hp out of the '60s heads whereas the later heads, about 250hp.

The aluminum 4v intake of the 85 Mustang GT is a case in point. It's probably all done by 4,500 to 5,000 rpm while the COBRA high rise is still capable of over 7,000 rpm.

Those heads just match the 85 Mustang GT intake capability.

thanks.. wonder why they put them on then? Well I'm glad I have the correct engine for the car however in pieces....
