Does anyone have a copy of the magazine or article on this cannonball shelby? It was a great "fictional" write up. Entertaining, made me jump in my 67 Gt500 and tear around town😆😁
Just want to read it again.

I might know the guy who wrote it.

It was originally in Popular Hot Rodding Magazine in 1982. The magazine did a second article on it in 1985.

A recent article in Power & Performance Magazine revisited the car a couple of years ago, after it had been stored away for decades.  Same owner, and he still likes to make late night speed runs.

Let me have a look through my old stuff and I'll post some scans.
Current:
2006 FGT, Tungsten. Whipple, HRE 20s, Ohlin coil-overs. Top Speed Certified 210.7 mph.

Kirkham Cobra 427.  482-inch aluminum side-oiler. Tremec 5-spd.

I remember that story.

I had forgotten about the electronically tunable Holleys tho. Wonder what that means?

That's the car. I don't think it has been seen since the article was written?

I don't know what you could change on the Holleys electronically or why you would want to?

I have quite a bit of video of that car from the first SAAC Does Vegas meet in 1996, so the car hasn't been tucked away quite as long as they make it sound. Linda Vaughn is walking around it asking a few questions of the owner. Pretty funny to look at today!

The car when RPM found it in a farmer's field in Wyoming, in 1975.

Coolest thing to me was that it had extra oil tanks and you could add a qt.or 2 WHILE driving.SO over the top.  8)

There's actually a recent video going around on the Internet on an updated underground version of the cannonball run ,but they pay homage to the original Cannonballers with some footage from some of those runs ,at the beginning of the video,I didn't see the Shelby though.
