My mistake. I was discussing this on another site and got corn-fussed.   I worked with Dave for several years at Popular Hot Rodding Magazine. I was one of the editors, Dave was one of the ad salesmen.  You could hear his deep, jovial, voice from across the opposite side of the office in the large Wilshire Blvd. building we were located in.

Whenever Steve Evans would come into the office, it was like having our own personal (alternate universe) drag race. Steve was the announcer credited with the famous "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!" radio advertising phrase.  He was a great guy too. Let me drive his Jaguar with a hot 302 Ford in it, around Willow Springs once when we were out there testing.

Those were The Golden Days, for sure.  We are losing so many of the old timers.

98SVT - was 06GT

I went to the Pomona Swap meet with him many years ago. His shopping goal for the day was a big block El Camino and a Wizzer motorbike. All he found was some Wizzer parts.
