I have a long time family friend who was recently put into a nursing home, and I know for a fact he purchased a 1967 red GT-350 brand new at Frontier Ford in Niagra NY. The car sat outside forever and all that remains are the wheels and some misc parts. He has no paperwork, vin or serial number plate. I'm wondering if anyone who really knows the archives can verify this car's existence by name of the original owner? Please email me through the registry if you can help. Thank you for the responses thus far.

Post his name and the dealership the car was purchased at for assistance

It's a very long shot... however much more information is needed.

First of all the name of the first owner.

If the name is not listed in the latest Registry, the following could possibly narrow down the possibilities:

Year specific: 1965 - 1970.
Model Type: GT350 - GT500 - GT500KR
Selling Dealers name and location
And so on and so on....

The more detail information the better.

Good Luck with your search!

Might the engine block or even parts of the 4 speed transmission be in the misc parts?

Frontier Ford sold two red 1967 Shelby's. One was a GT350 and one a GT500.

The red GT350 #2186, was a 4 spd, with NO A/C and No emissions.
According to the 2011 SAAC registry it was shipped 5/16/67 to Frontier Ford with Mag Star rims
The current 'whereabouts' is unknown (or it was not published at that time).
Also the original owners name is mentioned in those footnotes and noted as purchased on 6/27/67.

If you can share any photos of the car that would fantastic to see.

You can contact the 1967 Registrar who may know more info on the car and if your lucky, might know the last or current owner.

Nice that we can eventually close out those "whereabouts unknown" cars

Yes, We have someone with a similar name as an original owner of a red 1967 Shelby from Frontier Ford. We would like to get more information concerning the car. See email address below.
Thanks

Yes this forum is very helpful and I have confirmed the VIN thanks to this site. Here's the update
So lots of progress on this hunt, here's what I know now thanks to the registry and some phone calls:
67 GT 350 purchased new at Frontier Ford
Red no stripes
Vin 67200F9A02186
Purchased by my dads best friend's father David G------- for his son Steven (Steven lives here in PHX and is in a nursing home)
The car sat outside uncovered in Williamsville NY (Buffalo metro area) from nearly new to 1978.
Brought to Chicago (Hinsdale IL) to my dad's dealership on Ogden Ave for assessment, while parked in the back lot the vin tag was stolen. The car was complete at the time with original drivetrain, but it was seized and the whole car was sent to a scrap yard (minus a handful of parts which are now here in AZ)
The junk yard was possibly Victory autowreckers or another scrap yard in Villa Park on North Ave
If someone picked up that tag along the way, I can possibly get a replacement title for the car and it can be recreated. Or if someone bought that roller shell from the junk yard, I could make the parts available to them. According to the registry the car has no records of existing since it was sold new. Not in this for money so not interested in selling the parts.

If you hear of any leads on a junkyard 67 from IL let me know!

Was your Dads dealership GK Chevrolet on Ogden Ave. in Downers Grove?

Jack Loftus Ford was on Ogden Ave in Hinsdale, IL.  I drive past it everyday.  It was a Range Rover dealer until last year....it is now an empty building.

Replacement title?recreated?without the original shell?bad idea(s) IMHO....
