It would appear that the distributor rotor is 180* in the wrong direction. Maybe he should stick to Mopars?
Hmm, It looked to me like the rotor was at number 1 at 18:20, because it looked like at 18:00 he brought up the #1 piston on TDC by taking the spark plug out.
Surely he knows compression stroke.
There is a scene in which he is looking at the timing mark, the cap is off, and it is 180 off.
I personally have made that mistake myself and can attest to the flames as being a byproduct of that situation.
I take everyone's word here that he knows what he is doing but observation would suggest otherwise.
In any case, if it were me, I certainly wouldn't document this on video unless he just enjoys the entertainment spectacle of bad mouthing Ford's? On that one, I've experience that a few times myself.
If that were my engine, I'd want to know why my expensive original carb was flamed?
In any case after seeing this video, I'm not a fan. He is pompous egotist, self appointed. I avoid those folks. Simply put, "they are a legend in their own mind".
In my early days I was told to shut up, get rid of my pimples and get a hair cut. In no case did those dictating that gain respect from me as a result. Now I have the money to choose better experts to do my work and the wisdom to see the benefits. I have no confrontation with them, I just stay away in droves.
This guy is a no on my go to list. Good to see in advance exactly why.
