My 67 is Wimbledon White and has a Ford paint colour of 1619-A. This is not recognised within Australia and the Marti Report doesn't appear to have a paint code for the black underside of bonnet.
Need assistance with alternate paint code for Wimbledon White and also a code for the black underside of the bonnet.
Thanks Simon

Does your car have the all fiberglass hood?

(Only asking as the metal framed hoods were body color on the underside of the hood.)

Does Australia use the PAL color charts, or is there a primary brand (maker) of paint that might be also used in the USA?

This link references multiple paint makers codes for Wimbledon White, scroll down to "67 Mustang" Line

Thanks JD, I'll question the guy that is respraying the bonnet, and patching the paint chips. The bonnet is fibreglass, so black. Is there any specific black, and is it gloss, semigloss or Matt?

Also: somebody explain the fogging/overspray around the edges of the bottom.  Or post a photo.

Hi Simon,

I've never seen someone post a paint code for under fiberglass hood black, but here is another thread with good information for you.  You should also try searching at concoursmustang.com.  Generally low gloss black.  I would say stay away from a heavy coat of high gloss black.  Light spray of low gloss seems to be typical and some were left unpainted.  Some good examples of typical overspray in these as well.

Nooooo. Low gloss is about the same as semi gloss.

The sheen is the reflective quality of paint. I think of it in 5 stages from flat to gloss, with satin in the middle.

Flat / Matte (No reflection – lower durability)
Semi Flat
Satin
Semi Gloss
Gloss (High reflection – higher durability)

Sorry.  I shouldn't have confused with a term like that.  I meant flat or semi flat.  If I were painting mine again, I would choose flat because that seems to be what is on there.  When I see satin or higher gloss I tend to think tribute car.

Any general consensus out there what it should be?  I don't claim to be an expert here, was trying to help by sharing the info already posted.
