You do know that sharks can get you in three feet of water, right? They will go for waders. They generally hunt by the mouth of a river and operate and dusk and dawn. See Jaws for further references....
Don't know if Great Whites are down around Florida but those bull sharks make up for it....be careful...

When we wintered in St. Pete Beach on the Gulf side a shark got a woman in the morning 3 1/2 miles up the inland water way near

the Pasadena Ave. bridge, I stayed out of the water when ever we were there, safer in the pool ! Never mind the snakes and

brown box spiders around the property ! I'm not big on wild life

Sharks are every where,  time really is not an issue as they are just slowly swimming everywhere. Yes we do get the GWs usually later in the year. Those are nasty, here some pics from last week

Did I ever tell you about the time someone went down 20/25 feet and pulled a dormant 10/12 foot nurse sharks tail and it woke up showing its teeth ?
