The casting plant will probably go next year after the front office is up and running elsewhere. The family no longer owns it and CA is a very unfriendly place to do business.

Agreed!  Plus, the town of San Jacinto (where the casting plant is located) has declined from being a nice little farming community, into a ghetto in the past 15 or so years.

I know a few people who grew up there, and in near-by Hemet (for 100 years a lovely and scenic community that is now a scary ghetto of the so-called "Inland Empire" of SoCal.)   Many racing greats like Larry Minor (off road and drag racing) Rod Hall (a legend in off road racing) and several others "names" grew-up there.

Why'd this decline happen in towns like this? The gov't of Cal, starting in the early 2000s, began early-releasing felons from prisons, and off-loading them into nice, safe, communities full of seniors like Hemet, to "help rehabilitate" them.   Yeah, that worked out well.  Now,  Hemet and San Jacinto have some of the highest crime rates in the state. That doesn't help Edelbrock's mindset to stay in CA, either.

Hopefully Edelbrock doesn't take the checkered flag.   This trend is really bad for our beloved old-time names in performance.

Ah, Found that Industrial Opportunity Partners owns Edlebrock now. Also found this at the bottom of the link;

In February 2020, Industrial Opportunity Partners acquired COMP Performance Group, whose automotive brands include COMP Cams, TCI Automotive, FAST, ZEX and Inglese.

Back when I was a kid, and Edelbrock headquarters was in El Segundo, I used to ride my bicycle to their office, and ask the receptionist for stickers.
