The 2014 registry notes; 6 limited production painted units were built. I looked for more info in the grid codes and the 1968 introduction pages, but came up empty.
Does anyone know what body style and interior trim they had?

I can only guess the following;

(Three) 3 painted in Royal Maroon;
-1 GT500KR convertible with 6F saddle interior trim found noted only convertible in this color
-2 Fastbacks, unknown interior 5A, 6A, or 6F

(Two) 2 painted in Brittany Blue
-Guessing both were fastbacks, unknown interior 5A, 6A, or 6F

(One) 1 Springtime Yellow
- Guessing a fastback, unknown interior 5A, 6A, or 6F
-A GT500KR fastback appeared at the 2016 Scottsdale/ Barrett-Jackson auction, but
the registry suggests it was a special paint bright yellow WT6066, not the limited production Springtime Yellow paint.

Rich, you probably know this one, called out as Brittany Blue '68 'vert,  you were thinking both were fastbacks. Color look weird in

I think you are talking about the non "special paint colors"

They were Royal Maroon, Brittany Blue and Meadowlark Yellow .

I will post more on serial numbers/bodystyles this afternoon

Hi Mike,
I believe the convertible in the link/video and 'Brother Collection' isn't a factory painted Brittany Blue car.
Near the end of the video, the narrator mentions it was another shade of blue (Acapulco).
Without knowing the VIN we can't look it up.

THANKS Pete, That is a big help with your reply.

No convertibles in the mix definitely throw me a curveball. NO CS Wife car...got it!

Would you happen to know if the 1 Meadowlark Yellow fastback was a 5A or 6A black trim car?

I dont, but a good solid guess is 5A. The 6A is usually not found on later cars.

The original owner is a big shot if you google him you will find his videos

He never returned my inquiries although I did make contact with his secretary

This is part of a Frank Cate Ford advertisement from August 1, 1969. I believe it ran for many weeks or even months. That kind of excludes it being built specifically for Shelby's wife, if it sat on the lot for a year. Unless she turned it in rather quickly?

Interesting;
I haven't found any Marti Reports showing a convertible with 5A black (Knitted) comfortweave trim, just 6A black (smooth).
The fastbacks have been mixed so you could be correct.

I'll look for the video of the Meadowlark car. Thanks for that added note!

...the 2016 BJ-Scottsdale auction appears to show 5A black trim. (Post Restoration I assume so who knows if correct?)
https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1968-SHELBY-GT500-KR-FASTBACK-189309

...the 2013 BJ auction interior photo is too dark to confirm which version it had, but I suspect it would be the same as 3 years later.

It appears both 3977 and 4053 are noted to be at BJ Scottsdale in 2013.
The car above is NOT the factory correct painted Meadowlark Yellow car. I even had the correct ID # in the photo file name and missed that....ARGH!!!

EDIT; corrected trim descriptions in bold above (too many distraction here today);

3977 is NOT originally meadowlark yellow. It is a special paint car / WT 6066, I can confirm that.  It is not Meadowlark yellow.

I recently saw a special paint convertible advertised as Meadowlark yellow. It was also WT6066

There is no video of the meadowlark yellow car. There is video of the original owner giving a lecture.

Sorry 5A is comfortweave, you wont find that in a convertible

Pete,
Thanks for keeping this all straight and for your patience.
I've corrected my above post and noted 3977 is NOT the Meadowlark yellow car we were discussing.
