I have the 1:18 model of that red Hertz racecar.  I take it that it won the race?

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

One of the highlights of the weekend was my son meeting Chuck Cantwell and Peter Miles.

A great weekend!  A great event!  We had a lot of fun!

Thank you to everyone that helped put on this event!  All of the different activities were great!  Putting on this event is not an easy task and it is obvious how much hard work is put into it to make everything work.  Amazing job!  Well done!

I met a ton of people.  It was a great time.  I think the name tags were a good idea.  Peter Miles was right.... this group is made of great people.  Life long friendships were made and I am looking forward to that.

There are not many Burnt Amber 1967 Shelby's running around making the appearance of this car one of the highlights of SAAC  46. And it is a very early car #85. There was a second car at Sonoma that was originally Burnt Amber but is painted red now. There was discussion that some Burnt Amber cars came with white rocker stripes while this one received black. Personally, I like the black and also no LeMans stripes over the top.

FYI; the black side stripes were not SAI factory applied on any '67's and are not in the correct location on the fender. There were no black stripes availible on any '67's. They were all factory applied as white except on white cars which received blue side stripes.

Other personalized owner added items include the wheel lip moldings, chrome headlight trim rings, monte carlo bar, and GT500 style air cleaner. Despite the deviations from factory details, it is a sharp color and very nice looking car. It is a treat to see it at the Sonoma SAAC conventions. Thanks again for sharing the photos.

That's pretty cool. My son met Pete Brock at Fontana 8 years ago so I know the feeling. Good times.

Just a couple of photos from SAAC 46. One from the Friday night social, one from the Sunday Car show. Thanks to Jay Talbott, Ron Richards and the rest of the SAAC team for great event.
How many vintage cars showed up approximately. Car show had 30 cars?
