What does the bumper sticker say? It is cut off?
Is the glove box signed? If so, Enzo sig or CS sig?

That's the Ferrari Ford bought to benchmark against the new (not newest) Ford GT.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Actually that is the absolute facts of life..... Having a TOP BRASS family member that was a part of the Original 1960s group of executives that made decisions of what FORD would or would not do- for 50 years gives me a unique perspective of how things work. ALL automotive companies do it as well as other unrelated companies in different businesses, thats why they developed PROPRIETARY info so things cant be copied. Cuts way down on engineering, development, wind tunnel testing etc. If you watched the FORD vs FERRARI movie he was one of the (suits) with a scowl on his face, He likes to win and save money while doing so. ;)

Are we talking about the original 60's GT40 or the '05-'06 FGT That the bumper sticker was in reference to?

The '05-'06 FGT borrowed Zero engineering from the F430. The 430 Carroll was standing next to was used to confirm all of the performance capabilities of the FGT would meet and/or exceed the 430.

I was part of a team that did videos for Ford - The Truth About Trucks. We used an F150, Chevy, Ram, Toyota and Nissan. We tore them all down and compared the cheaper poorer engineered parts to the F150. There were a few things they didn't let us show. Like the drum brakes on the rear of the Chevy. They said we're considering doing that too it saves $3 per truck. The flex in the hinge area of the Dodge door or the fact they just added .010 to the thickness of the existing frame under the cab to barely make the new crash test. All the others already exceeded the test for several years. In the end they stored all the parts we did comparisons on (in case the other brands wanted to sue) and the rest of those brand new trucks went to the crusher. I think some of the videos are still on YouTube. It was Ford's biggest DVD give away at the time over 5 million of them.

Which is why I posted that it was used as a benchmark for the new Ford GT. BTW Ford was POed at Leno for him loaning his GT to Toyota (or maybe Nissan, I forget which) for them to use as a benchmark for a car they were developing.

Reverse engineering is a VERY long way from benchmarking a competitive product, these terms are not interchangeable and convey very different facts.
now does everybody use reverse engineering ( an attempt to copy in a "legal" way ) or benchmarking,
the 1st is a dangerous path as it can leave the person/organization at risk for legal action,
the 2nd is a prudent method of seeing if your product does perform well against it's competition.

Xactly

Well, unless you are in China. Rules don't apply there.
