Introduction and a question

Hello All,
Long time lurker first time post. After being on my bucket list for over 35 years, I finally purchased a GT350. As a young man, one of my co-workers had (and still has) a '65 GT350. I was a Camaro/Corvette guy at the time and the ribbing back and forth was constant :) . We have remained friends and he helped me with the purchase on this car.
It is 6S2228, Sapphire Blue 4 speed car. Originally a stripe delete, 10 spoke but the stripes were added during a repaint in the 80's. A T-5 was installed by the previous owner. Both the T-10 and 10 spokes are in the garage. The car also came with chrome Magnums and Torq Thrust.... too many choices

I do have a question that I can't find during a search. What is the correct bulb for the tach? The one I pulled out was burned out and I'm not sure it is correct. I replaced it with a 1895 (same as dash bulbs) ad was so dim I couldn't see anything. I don't want to put the wrong bulb in for fear of damaging the tach.

Looking forward to being part of this great community,

Tom

Wear the Magnums when you go somewhere fancy like a wedding or a steak dinner and the Torque-Thrusts when you are feeling like the most bad a** kid on the street! That is a great color and great looking car. Congrats on the new purchase and welcome to SAAC and the forum.

Love the Torq Thrusts!

Based on the vegetation, I assume year-round driving?

Welcome, great looking car!

I have an 1895 in mine as well. They are not the brightest bulbs in the world but good enough at night. At least that's what I remember the last time I actually drove it at night...

You might try replacing out with an SMD bulb like this one.

Do a little research decide for yourself. A lot of car guys are switching over to them.

If it starts it's streetable.
Overkill is just enough.

Had my car restored by Jim Cowles. Assume he installed correct bulb. Tach unreadable at night. Thought the bulb was bad until I tried it in closed garage at night with garage lights off. Close look at tach revealed dim glow. If you want to be able to read your tach at night I suggest an LED bulb.
