Paint markings for 67 GT350 undercarriage?
« on: April 06, 2021, 10:21:13 AM »
Does anyone know the correct paint markings for the undercarriage of  1967 GT 350 built in mid March?  If there is a manual out there I would be happy to pay for one.
thank you!

Just the undercarriage and not the rest of the car?

A few questions and comments

- Is the car starting the restoration process?  How assembled the car is limits the access and ability to apply some of the original typical markings

- Is the rest of the car restored to a very high standard? Paint marks tend to look out of place next to on on parts that are not completely correct or finished like originally done.

- Correct markings may make the car appear more like it was originally but if your interested in showing some classes (the more popular ones) tend to not require them but will deduct for the incorrect ones and they in no way make up for things that they do judge as far as points - if you care about those things

- Please, please resist borrowing markings you find or see on another similar car assuming that they did their homework and did not do the same thing (borrowing from another car) Fairly common to find markings applied that were for different plants, years or applications on car you see on the internet or at shows.

There are "guides" out there that I would not suggest - they have been out there for decades. IMHO not specific enough to production period (not just year) , model and plant. So no easy button attached to a PayPal or credit car processor

Reply back so we can get in idea of how far you think you want to go and with more details about the car.

We discuss the topic and there are a number of articles on the subject on the Concours site though I tend to not post allot of pictures due to the concern about borrowing and migrating of the marking issue in the posts
