Is anyone familiar with this car?
It's a genuine Mustero but trying to determine if it's a actual Shelby?

Any expertise would be appreciated!

Thanks

Guessing a modified 1965 Falcon pickup. 8)

Well that's one way to make it a two seater

Yes the 'Mustero' was a thing. I've seen a few.
The Shelby part of it is just way the owner tweaked it as a clone.

Like station wagon Mustangs there were many home built ones. Notice that both of the examples of the pick up trunk that have been posted so far are much different from one another likely due to different builders.

I kinda dig it.A motor would definitely improve its stance though.... 8)

Some were modified from Falcon wagons, others modified the Mustang trunk area.

There was a lady trying to flog one of these for huge bucks on social media last year, that claimed these were "made" by Beverly Hills Motors under license from Ford, and that 50 were planned but only some small number were actually made. Likely due to the claimed $7K plus price tag after the "conversion" (more than a Shelby or Corvette at the time). Once in a while one will surface at a car show. I think the Shelby connection might be that BH Motors also made the continuation verts?

Lots of pots w/1 of 4 known to exist... (Market making?).... Hard pass.

Um, any documented verification of this production rumor?  Doubt it.  Lies and legends seem to carry on without justification.  But I could be proven wrong and would like to be. 8)

I collected a few Musteros on my scrap page http://www.ponysite.de/pony/joke.htm, which I need to update indeed with more samples. Another Shelby-ized Mustero appeard in France, but wasn't real as well.

A former employee of BH passed by in 2003 and made a comment on the production run.
From the ones I heard about over decades a production of 25-30 is more realistic than 50.
