It's a crap shoot buying a car even if you have it inspected.  Bret inspected my 69 convertible pre-purchase, but I don't know if he rolled on the ground to inspect the floor pans, rear quarters, trunk drops, etc. to determine if the car had rust repair or panel replacement.  I know he verified it was a real Shelby with no vin issues.  I still don't know what vin numbers are under the front fenders - they have never been off.

Fortunately, my car lived its entire life in San Marino, CA, and it is a rust-free car with original panels.  I lucked out with this car, but was unlucky on 3 other cars I bought in the past.  I wouldn't have my car without Bret, and I am thankful for his service.  He wrestled it off a guy named Wade who was extremely difficult to deal with.  Wade bought the car to flip in 2008 off the California owner with the original pink slip showing ownership since 1973.   2008 is when the economy tanked, and I got a pretty good deal on it.
