SAACNW & WASAAC - Brothers Collection Tour & Dinner
« on: June 07, 2021, 07:16:39 PM »
Over this past weekend the WASAAC and SAACNW clubs teamed together for a fun weekend with a dinner Saturday night followed by a tour of the Brothers Collection in Salem, OR on Sunday.  Both clubs were very well represented and had a great time.

Saturday night we had 47 people attend a catered BBQ Beef Brisket dinner with entertainment provided by Mark Hovander (WASAAC President) going into great detail on some of the Shelby American cars in the Brothers Collection.  Mark wanted to start his presentation reviewing the 1990 WASAAC bylaws, but that was quickly rejected by the crowd, so he carried on with history, details and personal connections to some of the cars we would see on Sunday.  Then followed, Gary Bartman (SAACNW President) with some exciting news about the 1965 3 hole steering wheels that he will share in more detail to everyone soon.   We had a great night and a great turnout of cars.

Sunday we had roughly 95 people show up to tour the Brothers Collection.  An amazing car collection.  With over 350 cars in the museum to look over (over 600 total in the collection, the remaining cars stored at offsite locations).  All of them are ready to run and are meticulously maintained.  It was a great day and a lot of fun!

These few pictures do not due the collection justice!  More information about the collection can be seen here: https://youtu.be/bv0LP7EjXjw

Thank you to both SAACNW and WASAAC for helping make this event take place!   The Shelby enthusiasm is alive and well in the Pacific Northwest.

Some of these cars look like they are former Atzbach collection.  It is nice to see some of them stay in the Northwest.

Thanks for sharing.

It was neat to see both of the '66 GT350 convertible (blue and yellow) are now part of the 'Brothers Collection'.
The blue convertible was recently restored by Charlie Hutton from Boyd's American Hot Rods.
It appears he did nice work correcting a few items and eliminating the top stripes.

Anyone know the Shelby ID of the red '67 GT350 with the factory equipped Paxton?

Thank you for letting us know Tigertac56!  (and welcome to the forum)

That car was at the Quail Gathering back in 2010

Very special thanks to you, Brian for organizing a fantastic dinner on Saturday night and of course, the tour of the Brothers' Collection on Sunday. Well done. It was appreciated by all. What a wonderful collection of muscle cars. Other than the obvious Shelbys and other high performance Fords, my favorite was the Rambler Scrambler which I had the pleasure to drive in 1969. They are quite rare these days. I think I have only seen 2 - 3 of them in person in the last many years. The other car that would have been fun to own was the '66 428 PI F100 Pickup. Thanks, again.
