G.T. 350 taillight emblem
« on: July 14, 2021, 11:29:55 PM »
Dear all:

I have a morbid curiosity as to the length of the 1966 G.T. 350 taillight panel emblem.  I have the one that is on my car but have an extra that seems to be a little bit longer that I purchased as a backup.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

Are either of you going to the convention? There might be one there.

I wish - Not this year. I plan to retire in the next 18 months, Then I will attend multiple conventions. (love see one in Atlanta) I typically go to the national ford show in Carlisle each year and didn't see any real GT350 tail emblems.

I retired 5 years ago and have been going to all the good shows since
i think you'll enjoy it a lot
Owned since 1971, now driven over 245,000 miles, makes me smile every time I drive it and it makes me feel 21 again.😎

Yes Steve - I saw you and a fellow 1966 GT350 owner at the national ford show this year in Carlisle Pa. Thank you for making me feel welcomed. I hope the next few SAAC conventions will be located more eastern.  Road Atlanta would be a great location! California too far to haul my car for display, but after I retire will fly and attend future western conventions. I live in Alabama.
Thanks Fred

I still have a couple originals including the 65 that has the silverish argent paint. I started the original forum thread. This painted one was confirmed at the time as original and a variation of sorts, purchased it from Craig at Paradise. Originals have the machine marks in the back.

My comment there about the ones I sent with 843 both being original may be wrong. The oddball sized one may have been given me by Bill Norton when he had the first repros made. We were using his Valley Ford Parts for a lot of Mustang Illustrated cover shots and rare parts he had.

There is a original typical larger size emblem that has the machining on the back side. That one is a earlier original version to the later one with the mold mark depressions.
