When I did the plugs on my Mach1 it went quickly because the engine looked like this. Plugs came out easily. New plugs gapped and ready to install.

G, comon man !

You did this with home made tools ?

Did the Mandelorian help you make such tools ?

I am not a mechanic,  it took me two half days witth normal Kmart tools. Wrenches,  pliers, rachets, extensions etc.

As I took components out, I took my time to clean them before putting (cause its goung to be another 10 years or the next owner to tune up again)  them on again.

No hurrys,  no worries.  Let me tell you I was very tempted to take off all the pollution junk (like the previous owner of our other 69 GT500 did) that one takes me about two hours to change the plugs

Question : what do y'all think if I paint the brace in bright RED, I think it gives the engine compartment that certain  " je ne sais quoi  "

With my current CJ car with no brace on and valve covers off(engine paint and bay detail) with no smog and running hookers I changed the plugs in less than an hour. Those plugs had been in the engine since I bought it in 2013 and I'm betting since before Dan's divorce. Gary

I put the air cleaner back on.  It's all better now!   :)

I had a wrench that I heated up and bent/cut had welded whatever for 2 of the plugs I think. 1990. By the time I did my next full dress CJ car in 1995 done I couldn't find that tool but didn't need it as my carb was good and the car was sold with 30 miles on it. . Would it help if I go out to the garage and do a plug change and video it with my phone? On the same note my friend's GT500 vert I spent 3 hours on one bank on a full dress car with air because the plugs wouldn't budge and not a lot of room to really do what you need to do. I stand by what I said. I don't lie about stuff like that. So I suppose you don't believe I can mount a rear wing on a 1970 Mustang in 5 minutes? Done that before. Can change out a Carb(with choke tubes mounted) is about 5 minutes also. I should really make some you tube videos. Gary

I once saw an article in Mustang monthly on how to mount a rear spoiler on a 69-70 Mustang. I was laughing when I was done reading. All the measuring etc. Depending on the year of Mustang. If a 69 deck lid before paint I'd cut the inner metal out for the spoiler. The 70 deck lid they added a pierce punch to punch out that area. So when together I take an impact wrench. Take off the 2 rear bolts on the DL hinges and put the spoiler brackets on. Then I use a drill that is the same size hole as the holes in the bracket and drill the 4 holes. Now I drop the studded spoiler through the holes and us a deep well socket and mount the 4 nuts. 5 minutes tops. Carbs are easy. 4 nuts, gas line and choke tube mounting hex. Did it at a show. Changed out a Holley 600(67 Fairlane carb) to a 428 CJ 735 carb. 600 was acting up and a friend gave e a newly rebuilt Ford Holley. Having the correct tools make a difference. I got swivel ball sockets as they are imperative to working on our cars. I have restore many cars over the years. Now on my 69 Mach1 I decided to install the rear wing like a Ford dealer should have done it in 1969 if a customer wanted one put on like the factory did. I used my friend's 4K mile 69 B2 as a template and duplicated his mounting hardware(spacers and bolts). I had to make the spacers up on a lathe at work. Took a "little longer" than 5 minutes because I measured it out to my templates. Louvers I first started by memory and look then said "oh crap, go measure Seraphim's B2. My placement was spot on. There is a trick I use to insure my holes in my roof are spot on with no problems. I have done a "few" over the years. My Mach after install of spoiler and louvers.

well you know we took RED out to the Miami Beach Car show and we came, we saw and we conquered

it truly was a wonderful and beautiful day until :

heading home it developed a strange noise, it started with a  light screatch and turned into one heck of a scream.

pulled over, popped the hood, looked everywhere,  viewed nothing.

car cooled down, started up, no noise for about 15 minutes, then the monster came back !

Just a quick tip that most people miss.  When you put the syncros back together did you match up the alignment marks for the hub and sleeve?  Those parts wear in together.
