L.A. Sheriff Deputy killed in Cobra crash today
« on: September 16, 2021, 03:55:23 PM »
A terrible tragedy for the deputy and his family.

But, I'd think the reporter is incorrect where he says the car is believed to be a "1965 Shelby Cobra."  The damage makes it look like fiberglass to me.

Bailiff = court Deputy not just out after evening shift - most of these guys start at 7am sorting the in custody cases for the day.
2am = going home from the bar with date
Hit pole = drunk or zero driving skills - doesn't look to have been high speed
Ejected = no seat belts - or lousy kit car installation

Update: 100+ mph into pole. Left side torn up - doesn't show in news photos/video.

Sounds like an accurate assessment to me.

In my old area, we had an incident where a cop that got fired from the force, and his girlfriend a current officer were soooo drunk leaving a bar, (where it is known to be heavily patrolled), got about 5 miles away, speeds of 90mph according to witnesses, she was on the back wobbling and finely fell off as well as he, legs were removed as well as arms, they actually found her gargling, (alive), he was gone. Crazy thing the bike managed to make it almost a 1/2 mile where it smashed into a sign. The public never got to hear the results of the doxology report to this day.
