1970 GT350 convertible-new owner
« on: October 09, 2021, 10:38:02 AM »
It's been a long time coming, but "my" new 1970 GT350 Convertible has finally made it to my garage. I can't say it was a struggle to find, within a day of posting my desire for a 68-70 GT 350 convertible in the SAAC "memberslodge", I received a message that the owner had a car that I might be interested in. Little did I know that it would be Grabber Orange, and a fully loaded car at that. Took a while to get the logistics laid out for both myself as the buyer, and the seller, but as of 3:18am this morning, I now have 2642 in my physical possession. Originally ordered for Gotham Ford (order received on 3/31/1969), the car was re-routed to Luke Bolton Ford in Plantation, Florida from the Newark, NJ holding lot. Part of a larger collection, it's been restored to "Division II" specs over a decade ago, and for almost that long, has been sitting up on a lift awaiting it's return to the sunlight. Going to be a fun ride once I have gone through it to make certain everything is in proper working order. Might even get it out to a SAAC/MCA/AACA show now and then. Only time will tell.

Bill

Congrats on the new ride! It's neat that you found a grabber orange like the fastback.
That convertible looks very clean! I hope you get many years of enjoyment with it.

I would like to hear the story about taking possession at 3:18 a.m! As you said, the logistics of buying/selling can really be a challenge.

Whatever the challenges, you landed a great looking car that appears to be in really nice condition. Congrats!
