’91-’93 SHELBY / SAAC -Emblems

Version 1: 1991 MKI "SHELBY" Prototypes

These first sets of emblems were found on the prototypes at the SAAC Convention for the introduction in 1991 in Charlotte, NC.
(This included; MKI CX1, XX1, XX2, XX3, & XX4 (MKI XX4 was marked as MKI 009 while in Charlotte;
       MKI 007 has SHELBY emblems, but they were installed after Charlotte).
No other cars received them from the factory. I believe approximately a dozen sets were made for the prototypes.

"SHELBY" letters only for the exterior oval emblems, (no "AAC MKI" letters in ovals)
"SHELBY AAC MKI" letter emblems for the hatchback side quarter panel windows
"CS" letter logo in the center cap emblems
"SHELBY" letters in the oval logo on the steering wheel

Version 2: 1991 MKI "Shelby AAC MKI" Prototypes

These were made after the Autoweek magazine release.
I believe the purpose was to pacify Chrysler regarding their exclusive agreement with Carroll Shelby.
MKI XX1 and XX2 had these replacements emblems installed during their PR - media use.
No other cars received them from the factory.

"SHELBY AAC MKI" letters for the exterior oval emblems
"SHELBY AAC MKI" letter emblems for the hatchback side quarter panel windows
"CS" letter logo in the center cap emblems
"SHELBY" letters in the oval logo for the steering wheel

Version 3: "SAAC" MKI Production

These were the production emblems. MKI XX4 had these replacements installed for its PR - media use.

"SAAC" letters for the exterior oval emblems, changed to a blue outline and lettering
"SAAC MKI" letter emblems for the hatchback side quarter panel windows
"CS" letter logo in the center cap emblems
"SAAC" letters in the oval logo for the steering wheel, also changed to a blue outline

Version 4: "SAAC" MKII Prototype

These were used on the prototype MKII 2X1 convertible & the first production hatchback MKII 004.
No other MKII cars had them from the factory. I believe approximately a dozen sets were made.

"SAAC" letters for the exterior oval emblems with the blue text and outline
"SAAC MKII" letter emblems for the hatchback side quarter panel windows
"CS" logo in the center cap emblems
"SAAC" letters in the oval logo for the steering wheel with blue text and outline

Version 5: "SAAC" MKII Production

These were the production emblems placed on all the MKII cars.
MKII 2X1 had these replacement emblems installed during its PR- media use.

"SAAC" letters for the exterior oval emblems with black text and outline (all three paint colors)
"SAAC MKII" letter emblems for the hatchback side quarter panel windows
SAAC Snake logo in the center cap emblems
"SAAC" letters in the oval logo for the steering wheel in black text and outline

Version 6: "SAAC Snake"

Only the hatchback side emblems were made for production.
The rest of the emblems were carried over from the MKII production sets (noted in Version 5).

Great info rich! seen a couple of templates in ebay for sale...
