Just France? My 70 GT350 was sold new in Belgium By Claude and the 4th owner was a Frenchman and when I got it it came with a French title. I also sent a 68 GT350 to France in 2013.

Hello Shelbymann, thank you for your inport.

I am interested in every Car outside America, so you and your Car is very welcome

I came with 2 time correct "Sport Auto" Magazine from French

in April 1966 only a Poster is showed, the Man is Jo Schleser himself,
i am wondering about the strange Exhaust Tipes ...

in Augost 1966 the ad is shoed with 6S398 and another Car is test drived

The Car wears other Licence Plate ( Nr. will edith asap) and nice Inter-Sport Sticker at the rear end.

Greets from Germany

Stephan,
Could the Ivy Green 66 be 6S923 owned and raced by Claude Dubois?
My friend Roland in Sweden owns that car now and it still has a Panhard Rod
on the car and the holes in the rear floorboard for the seatbelt harness.
The pictures show it as it looks today.

Hello Texas Swede,

A bit more background on the delivery channels:
Acc. to Howards list he sent me back then a few more than 70 66 Shelbys were sent via Ford Advanced Vehicles/UK headed by John Wyer, which was the preferred channel capable and in charge to import Ford USA cars early on.

Claude Dubois sold 9 66 Shelbys at the early Jan 66 Bruxelles Motor show, but his orders to Ford Belgium were not processed by them, so he got them from FAV. 6S923 is one of them that came in via FAV to Belgium in 1966. He was a direct importer from 1.1.1967 on after a deal was made with CS.

Alan Mann sold at least 12 Shelby GT350 sitting for 3 month at FAV, I think at and after the London Racing Show Nov. 65.

Thanks,
Here is a copy of the registration of 6S923 by Claude Dubois in Belgium.
The strange thing is the date of the document, 1970. Where and owned by whom
during the 4 years after it arrived in England and before it came into the hands of
Mr. Dubois.
Texas Swede

Claude Dubois used the same P.V.A. 40259 (procès vebal d'agrément) for all Shelbys 67-71 and the GT250......(those were the times). As far as I know Belgium typically used P.V.Gs, so there is another thing to interpret or research, what type of car approval was really used to get the Shelbys in Belgium on the road. The name Shelby Cobra may indicate something around the source of paperwork.

Hello everyone, thank you very much for all of your input,
at the moment more questions than solutions arise with every new find or tip.

First of all I would like to thank "JoePhil",
who supports me in the search with lots of information and pictures, I learn something new every day.

I have decided to write a separate article about every known car,
with new pictures or contexts we might get on.

I would like to start with the existing SFM numbers, with the associated images and data

SFM 6 S 398 aka "398 SR 75"

the following data is available:

White, LeMans Top Stripe, Cragar Wheels

03.12.1965 shipped to FAV (SAAC Registry 2019)
18.01.1965 still at FAV, issued Credit

NEW 10.12.21 = 04.1966 Sport Auto Magazin, Poster with Jo Schlesser, Cragar, special Exhaust Tips

06.1966 Sport Auto Magazin "Special Le Mans" 08/1966 Plate 398 SR 75, showed Painted Magnum Wheels
08.1966 Sport Auto Magazin, same advertisement
Date unkown, but befor 1968, Chantal Schlesser Pic
Date unkown but befor 1968 (Jo Schlesser died 1968) colored negative pic,
purchased at PLASSART, TRIGANO, ca. 1973 ROCHER and others (See Registry 2019)

This is the second car that some data is available on

SFM 6 S 397

White, according to the Registry LeMans Top Stripes, Cragar rims

Unfortunately, there is no secured photo, but accord to the SAAC Register 2019
there is the following data

03.12.1965 shipped to FAV (SAAC Registry 2019)
18.01.1965 still at FAV, issued Credit
19.04.1966 shipped to Intersport
20.03.1967 unknown warranty work at Intersport
personal car Jo Schlesser, Mr. Guaffon, 1974 Mr. Afchain

((It should be the first two vehicles together with 398
Intersport, so we assume that it might have been the vehicle from the Sport Auto Test 8/1966,
however, the vehicle had no LeMans Top Stripes))

i remember talking with Rzepkowicz in Automedon few years ago  about 6S747 red car , (his car in 1971) and 6S636 green car been racing in France...
i found in 427racing magazine a list and i checked in registry the list of intersport cars officially imported:
397,398 ,465,467 WHITE and 797 BLUE and 1071 RED car Sold by INTERSPORT .

But few other car have been imported in France and not in this list :
6S948  white car is for sale in france now, 6S776 is hiden somewhere ...6S772 is a well known car and i saw it few times, 6S405 i inspected this car few years ago( 2017 )when it was for sale , it's still in france but came from switzerland .
I know one is in north of france hidden too but i can't find the serial number ...

(there is a blue one in autopassion 6 AVRIL 1987 ,554DB13 , it has the "intersport sticker" .i guess it's 797.)
when i ll have time i will check on AUTODIVA if i can find out infos , but ususaly they are talking about owner and registration number and not SFM ...

texas swede

In 1982, I visited Claude Dubois' shop in Brussels to look at a white 1966 GT350.
6S944. However, we couldn't agree on the price (USD1500) difference.
I was later told #944 went to France.
