Thanks guys.  Still deciding whether to go quartz or try to get it running as is.  This started as a simple AM to AM/FM conversion.  Now the whole dash is apart.  I'm not sure what happened.  ;D

It could be an unspecified virus but there is no vaccination for it around my place. It's a plaque I tell you, a plague!  ::)

Thank you all for the replies. After a conversation with the Tach man and having him hang on me like the arrogant prick he seems to be I decided that I would send my Instrument unit to Instrument Specialties in Rhode Island.

I have never talked to him but I have heard dozens of comments and complaints about him in the last couple years. Where there is smoke there is fire they say. By contrast I have only heard good things about Instrument Specialties.
