In 1971 on December 15th I purchased 6S1431
242,000 miles later I’m still enjoying it
1st picture is when I bought it
2nd picture is this year at Hershey
3rd picture is with CSX2287
Owned since 1971, now driven over 242,000 miles, makes me smile every time I drive it and it makes me feel 21 again.😎

Hi Steve, Congratulations on being a LONG-Term caretaker. Nice to see your post and photos. Great history with 6S1431. I was just reading about you and your car the other day in the SAAC 2021 Annual winter addition regarding MCACN. Denny

April 4, 1972. Mine is coming up in the spring.

I don't know how to explain to others that want to know what exactly is wrong with me?

Have you come to an good answer? Maybe I could borrow yours?

No need to explain, but tell them nobody names their kid Camaro or Vette, but they do name them Shelby.
Plus after 50 years the stories are awesome
I hope to be on my deathbed smiling about all the things “I did”, rather than crying and saying “I wish”
I sometimes say the car is like a Kardashian, dark, covered in gold, has a checkered past, but with the right protection (seat belts and good tires) I’d ride it

Well maybe, but it doesn't have a fat injected butt and hasn't had a sex change.

Very nice steve. Hopefully  6s689 will look that good in a couple of months when it gets painted. Mine was taken off the road in 1970.

Steve, we chatted at this year's MCACN show. I'm 10 months ahead of you ownership-wise but you are 180,000 miles ahead of my GT350.  Congratulations and  many more years of ownership to you.
