Redoing my '65 exhaust after 35 years and not sure how the header collector reducers were attached to the intermediate pipes. Were the reducers butt welded to the intermediate pipes (leading to the glasspacks) or was there no reducers and the intermediate pipes just welded to a header collector tri-flange?  If anyone has a picture of an original exhaust setup would appreciate seeing it. Thanks

Here is a complete system,

You are welcome.
I have investigated the various measurements and come up with the following.
(Please note that these may or may not be completely accurate)
Muffler bullet=35 inches
Intermediate pipes=13 inches (please note the passenger side should have a 10 degree
kink. Looks like they laid out the pipes on the wrong side in the picture.

Like to make a clarification:
Muffler total length end to end 35 inches and bullet 30 inches.

I don't have my original intermediate pipes anymore to copy or the original headers for that matter. I had them both aluminum spray coated 45 years ago and that is all that what was left of them, the coating! They rusted from the inside out under the stairs of my mothers house in foggy San Francisco. I just couldn't remember if the reducer was part of the pipe or separate. Thanks for the info.

Does the SA manual indicate what degree exhaust tips were cut at? Appears something other than a right angle.

Assume both tail pipes were same length and bent identically? Meaning there wasn't a left and right side tail pipe?

I am only aware of personal observations to indicate how the pipe was cut . Many were cut at a angle.

Any idea of original tail pipe diameter?

Hard to tell from Bo's picture to see if the intermediate, muffler and long pies were black or some combination. What would be considered correct for a Mar-Apr numbered car?

As the picture indicates the pipes and muffler were black but the turn out pipes were mostly bare steel but some were black also.

Anyone know how far the pipes stuck out at the rockers?
