I am rebuilding 6s689 as we speak, from being off the road for 50 years. I think about it all the time. Got my first one in 1981, 6s1855. Then my second,6s1297. Then my third 6s731. I only have 6s689 now though. When I see Shelby mustangs 1965-1970 my heart jumps a little. No other car has had an impact on my life.

I am totally with you. I consider myself extremely lucky to have one.  Never far from my thoughts and thoughts can come at an instant and are easy to conjure before one moves on to something else during their daily activities.
"Low she sits on five spoke wheels
Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"
