What music would have played on your radio in 1970?

1970 would have still been an AM radio. Granted WOR with Allison Steel, Bruce Morrow, Scotso, Dennis Elsis were in FM in NYC but FM moble reception was terrible. That was for late night at home when you turned out the lights, turned up the volume on the headphones and went "oh wow man!"

Probably Don Imus and Imus (I'm an ass) In the Morning would be the most popular and that was top 40 adult. Some Beatles, Stones, Doors, a little Led Zeplin (the salami brothers) but also crossover to Country Rock like Cristal Gale, Linda Ronstadt, Charlie Daniels, etc. Maybe some Smokey Robinson, Temps and Sup's?

He would do some of his bits like when he called Hertz to rent a GT350 and had them tape up the headlights for the race at Indy. Hey! I didn't right the bit. I would have gotten the technical stuff right...eventually!

I guess that I'll sort of agree with Royce... in '70 I was probably riding my bicycle with one of those "transistor radios" hung on the handle bars. Reception was awful, but I kept listening to those "Boss Jocks"
I did start with the Guess Who, Elton John, Yes, T-Rex, Led Zeppelin, Grand Funk (my 1st concert), Chicago, the Who, Queen, etc, etc,  and attended a lot of great shows... but for me that was a little later... more like '71/72 time frame (and ever since)

From what I understand/heard, LA's own FM KLOS 95.5 (95 1/2 back then!) was broadcasting in stereo around 1968-'69.
