BARN FIND 1968 SHELBY GT500
According to the Shelby Registry: "GT500 #351 was last seen in PA in 1975......with 33000 miles. Present owner/location not known"
We found it!
43 years have passed and this remarkably original GT500 still has only 33,000 original miles. We found it sleeping in a local heated garage up on jack stands. Now at our Lansdale location it is an amazing find with no signs of rust. The engine turns freely - we have not touched the car in any way other than to move it.
The owner of the Shelby purchased the car from the original owner in 1970. He did drive the car for a few years and finally decided to park it after people were showing up at his house to try to see and/or buy the car. The tires were replaced early on, mufflers were replaced early on, he also added an Accel coil but left the original coil in place.
We are putting this incredibly low miles GT500 up for eBay Auction in "AS FOUND" condition, starting May 15th, 2018.
Bid with confidence - this classic Shelby is the real deal!!

Would like to see pictures from 1970 when almost new, since this is a two owner car.

I have know of this car since the mid 80's  The car is a solid car. It has had a cheap repaint back in the day . the body shop chose to scrap the original side scoops and put on repops as you can see they were never cut out.  If someone here on the forum has any interest in purchasing PM me and  I can fill them in on some other details.   At the current $110k bid and I do not believe that is close to there reserve   and what it would take to get running and driving {and I do not mean up and down your driveway] really as a driver  you will have over paid as far as 68 500 fastbacks  drivers go.    JMO

A few dealer starting bids. I wonder if the engine is matching numbers?

I don't get the old barn find big dollars thing when a car is repainted-especially a cheap repaint- and has had parts replaced like original fiberglass and isn't running. SMH. I'd rather buy a restored one for that price....

They had a poor jacked up 67 or 68 fastback a short while ago with a price I mistook for a phone number. I pay good money for these cars when in nice shape, This was crazy priced and condition was poor
