Agreed Saleen has some very nice visual add ons and performance upgrades

The only bummer about Saleen and his cars, they are not reliable. Every one we tested broke down. Steve is a horrible businessman, and a PR bore. The 1980s cars were and are now getting the respect and bringing some serious dough.
Past owned Shelby's:
1968 GT-350--Gold
1970 GT-500--#3129--Grabber Orange.
Current lifelong projects:
1969 Mustang Fastback/FOX chassis, 5 speed, 4 wheel discs, with a modern Can-Am 494 (Boss 429), Kaase heads, intake with a 1425 cfm 'B' Autolite Inline carb, ala Trans-Am style
1968/70 Olds 442 W-30

^^^ I was about to write the exact same thing.  9 out of 10 Saleens we ever tested at MT and Car Craft broke.  Maybe closer to 9.9 out of 10.

I seem to recall stories from one of Saleen's team drivers about how Steve would sometimes skip out on hotel bills.  I'm not sayin' it's true...just what I heard.
Current:
2006 FGT. Tungsten. Whipple, HRE 20s, Ohlin coil-overs, 3.90 gears. 210.7 mph.

Kirkham Cobra. 482-inch aluminum side-oiler. Tremec 5-spd.

Formerly:
1968 GT500KR #2575 (1982-2022)
1970 Ranchero GT 429
1969 LTD Country Squire 429
1963 T-Bird Sport Roadster
1957 T-Bird E-model 3-spd stick

Van,
I got a good one for ya...
We were filming an interview with Jim Wangers, and Ro from Car Craft was testing a Saleen at the same location. Ro was so pissed (and dropping many F bombs) at that Saleen for constantly breaking down and stalling. He couldn't even make it run long enough to get any numbers on it. He let me have a crack at it, and I agree it was a POS!

Roy by golly you are correct,  what a long day of fishing and adult beverages dies to one.  My sincerest apologies,  but dang that $70k Vette put that $500k puppy to shame

As per topic...
I would love to own a 2005/06 Ford GT...and it's retro. The new 'Vette won't be worth a damn in 5 years. Now back to regular programming as Roy suggested.
