Battery tie down bracket
« on: May 07, 2022, 06:58:57 AM »
Now that we have established that some 69s they installed a "L" bracket late in production and screwed it to the 69 battery apron what is the Judging guidelines for these brackets? Were they only used on group 27 cars? Was there a service bulletin where earlier group 27 cars would have been fitted with the L bracket when in service? Installed before sold(if unsold when the bracket started being used)? So is a GT500 or a GT350 with the group 27 deemed concours acceptable to have that L bracket screwed to the 69 Apron regardless of when the car was produced? Thanks. Gary

The typical rule of thumb is that if a late GT500 had a hole that it would have a bracket. Of course a very early car or a GT350 with a 24 with the hole might be questioned as out of the ordinary requiring additional reasonable proof.

I understand the 24 issue but what about a factory 27 battery GT350(air 4 speed 70 amp battery option on the order sheet)? Thanks Bob as I took your advice and decided a new topic on this instead of going into detail on the apron topic. Gary

The same rule of thumb would apply to the 350 with the 27 as the 500 with the 27.Expect pushback IMO.
