Getting some things out of their boxes after many years.  I bought many, many years ago a carb that was supposed to be correct for mid production 65 GT 350.  After closer inspection it is a 3259-1 but a date code of 743.  Did I get a raw deal?

Since what you provided shows that the carb was assembled/made in the third week of April 1967 I don't think you got what you expected

7 = 1967
4 = April
3 = 3rd week

Even though the wrong date because of appreciation I bet you could sell it for a lot more then the price you paid many many years ago  ;) If so not such a raw deal after all.

What would the applications be for this carb?  If this is a Hi-Po carb then A 67 K-code 289?
I believe i bought the carb and small letter manifold as a package deal.  Never installed on my 65 SFM 5S259.

The application would be 67 GT350 with that 67 date code . Only the GT350 came with the list 3259-1 in 67. It was also  typically stamped S2MS-9510-A . The 67 K code used the Ford hipo carburetor .

Just to add a little detail or clarify Bob is describing an Autolite 4100 model which makes it very different looking compared to the Holley you have for a late 67 production GT350

Speaking of 67 GT350 carbs, did the automatics get the Autolite 4100, like they did in 1966, or did they all get the Holley?

Even though the change to 4100 in early 66 automatic production the S2MS marked Holley's are found to also be in the mix for 67 automatic production. If a Holley was used on a automatic in 67 it would also come with a dashpot unlike what was used on the 4 speed that year.
