Projects are less expensive then a completed car but seem to be disproportionately more expensive by something like a 2 to 1 proportion, i.e., selling for twice as much as they should be?

Or stated differently, when complete will cost more then double what a complete car costs now.  ;)

You passed on it because it was an automatic? Are you kidding me? Beggars can’t be choosers. You’re looking for a needle in a haystack at this point and you’re fighting everybody else looking for the same thing too. You may have to compromise a bit my friend like if you really want a four-speed then swap it out & keep the original transmission and then when you go to resell it make sure you have the original transmission and all the (parts) set up for it to give to the next person but I would not let a thing like an automatic vs. a manual transmission  stand in your way of buying a project car which, again, are getting very very hard to find

Understood, but I don’t do automatics or conversions. The Marti is gospel. I’ll keep looking…
