Maybe it's a strategy to make EVs appear less expensive by comparison.  California you know.

shelbymann1970

Just plain stupid  on the mark up. Not that the dealer would do it but someone might buy it near that price. BTW the EV comment? Many are not that expensive if you want to compare their performance to cars of similar performance. Downright cheap.

I saw a brand new GT500 on a local lot (small dealer).  The car had a similar MSRP, and they had an ADM of 10K.  I think it depends on where the dealer is located.

Nothing beats a classic!

Might depend if dealer is going through divorce settlement, on drugs, watched copious amount of BJ auctions for values, in middle of tax audit or in therapy.  8)

100 over sticker is ridiculous. 90 over like the C8's is more like it.

It just makes me appreciate my small, local dealer.  They have a long standing policy of never selling over MSRP, so I ordered from them back in March.  I don't have the car yet, but it has been built and is in transit, but who knows how long that will take these days.  Patience is a good thing, and it can save you big bucks.....Oh and BTW, this is rumored to be the last GT500 Ford will ever make....https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/there-will-not-be-a-2023-ford-mustang-shelby-gt500/ar-AA11STqe?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=W091&cvid=968cb59be30d4b348589d5fdff01de9c

There is a local Chevy dealer selling a '22 C8. It has 6,000 miles on it, is a basic equipped car with an original sticker of they say $68. They want 91 for it.

I thought basic sticker on a 22 was about 82?

I'm staying away from both the C8 and GT500. It's too easy to confuse me?

Tony's plan of waiting a year or so for a nice C8 and saving money doesn't seem to be working out? In that plan the price of the used one goes down, not up over original selling price?

I need to read his book. That would explain the plan better to me I'm sure?

My local Chevy dealer, who is across the street from my Ford dealer, has the same never sell over MSRP policy, so when I got my 2021 C8, it was at sticker.   I have been offered some big bucks to sell it, even before it was delivered (same with my 2019 ZR1), but I would not sell it for any price, too hard to get a replacement exactly as you want it, and the wait times for an order are very long.

No you do not know this fine gentleman

I need to read his book

Tony did not write a book,  nothing to read,  move on you are dismissed

Do you know if Tony has a C8?

No you do not know if he owns  one (I think he does but that's just hearsay)

Tony gave you good advice on how to purchase a C8 at MSRP

You should be clear on the C8s as if you are talking about the Z06s then I'm sure they are out there. Talking to a "media rep" in front of MIS last month with a carbon black Z06 he said the norm was 50-75K if you wanted one now. 2-3 year waiting list if you ordered one. I don't think though even being a Shelby fan I would ever compare a new Gt500 to a Z06 Vette. Maybe in the future as Ford has their hands on one right now most likely in a manufacturer's swap. https://fordauthority.com/2022/09/ford-benchmarking-2023-chevy-corvette-z06-photos/
