Hi all,

I am seeing that there are different types of timing covers. There are with different cast part number location and with an A or B part number.

Is there was a change in month and year in these timing covers please?

Wich type of timing cover is correct Assembly Line for a cast date 6J21 GT500 engine please?

Here are two pictures of the types that I have found:

Thanks Kyle.

Do you have a sharp picture of the clock dials?

What Bill is suggesting is look at the clock dials of covers you posted.  That will indicate time period

You will want a C3AE-6059-A timing cover, dated appropriately for your car.  There are several different locations on the timing cover where the date "clock", "wheel" could be.  Pictured below are at least two '66 dated locations. The third photo shows the difference between the C3AE-A cover and the C8AE-B(on top) cover, where the '68-on timing pointer can be mounted as well as the pre '68 style mounting holes on it. Sometimes the "8" and "3" can look like one another depending on how crappy it was cast.  But the C8 will have the longer bolt hole for the pointer, C3 shouldn't.

Location of the casting number depends on who made it, as different manufacturers put it in different spots as exhibited with the photos as well.
