It's been out for over a year. Problem is having to go to the after market to try and make it work

Does NOT include the following parts required for operation:
Traction inverter
Control system
Battery
These parts must be sourced from the aftermarket. For more information, please call the Ford Performance Parts Techline.

Ford’s motor, ..... there are about $20,000 in additional parts needed to make an EV conversion work once you have it.

GM is working on a complete turn key system and has already done many cars as test beds.
It will be called the Electric Connect and Cruise eCrate package, and GM sees it as a “future business opportunity,” Chevrolet VP Scott Bell recently told the Detroit Free Press. Intended to for use in classic vehicles, the program will be run by the same team that creates the brand’s crate engines.

Chevy sent a proposed kit to Hot Rod and they installed it in their iconic Project X. https://www.motortrend.com/features/57-chevy-ev-conversion-project-x-drag-strip-test/
