On a 69 GT500, I purchased a new under dash wiring harness from Alloy Metals.  I cannot seem to locate the map light connection anywhere on the harness.  Every other connection point is correctly plugged in. How (or where) do you connect the map light??

Have you contacted the company you bought the wiring from?

Thats standard Mustang stuff so its in the electrical assembly manual

I do have a message in to the supplier, and am waiting for an answer.  And I did look in the electrical portion of the manual which says that a map light is not required for a MUSTANG. However my car did come with the map light in place attached to the mustang dash panel which has openings for a map light and the switch.  Why would Ford design the dash panel for a map light, yet not put any map lights in any cars?  I am not attacking anyone, just trying to figure out this situation.  Does anyone have a map light in their 69 Shelby?

All of the Shelbys have it and its most definitely shown in the engineering manual. I will try to post a picture later today if I get time

I do see it in the supplemental shop manual, but do not have an actually point to plug in to, to get power for the map light on the harness.  What is everyone else who is using he Alloy Metals  harness doing for the power source for the map light

Use the electrical engineering assembly manual not the shop manual.

The engineering manual is the instructions for the assembly line.

Your issue has nothing to do with the Alloy harness

Please use the Mustang Assembly Manuals, it will make things go a lot easier and you will save a lot of time for yourself
