What do you miss from your childhood ?
« on: November 05, 2022, 10:08:51 AM »
I miss getting up early Saturday morning and watching a marathon of colorful, energetic,  brilliant cartoons that ran for hours non stop. Then right around mid day, the drum beats and then a yell that Tarzan was about to start ....

How about you ?

The cartons are good. Real fun toys. HO/AFX race sets...But there are no good car designs to copy, it would have to be retro.

Cartoons, and a show called 'Wonderrama' starring Bob McAllister....In LA, there was channel 52 that showed 'The Little Rascals', 'The Three Stooges' and 'Speed Racer' on a daily basis. Miss that. Also, LA's KTLA channel 5 used to show all the cool monster films, like Godzilla, Rodan, Dracula, Frankenstein, etc. Pre-celeb Steve Edwards would have a contest right after the movies.
Past owned Shelby's:
1968 GT-350--Gold
1970 GT-500--#3129--Grabber Orange.
Current lifelong projects:
1969 Mustang Fastback/FOX chassis, 5 speed, 4 wheel discs, with a modern Can-Am 494 (Boss 429), Kaase heads, intake with a 1425 cfm 'B' Autolite Inline carb, ala Trans-Am style
1968/70 Olds 442 W-30

Going shooting with my Dad from the time I was about 8 until I was 14 (and discovered girls!)  Just about every other Saturday morning, Dad and I would drive out to a farm owned by a friend of his.  The pasture was a valley probably 500 yards long with hills on both sides.  We'd shoot everything from .22 rifles and pistols, varmint rifles, high power handguns, shotguns, stuff we'd bought at gun shows.  I really miss him and the time we spent together.
