1913 - not 1903. It was for the Model T which started production in 1908 at Piquette plant. The Highland Park plant was built to try Henry's moving assembly line. He ended up have to offer $5 a day to keep qualified workers who were worked like dogs keeping up with Model T orders. He started the Rouge Plant in 1917 - a 1x1.5 mile plant that could take iron ore in one door and push completed cars out the other door. They shut down Model T production there and a few months later started cranking out 5 million Model As in 4 years. Some of those were assembled in other plants around the world but most parts were made there and shipped to the other assembly plants. They could assemble up to 2,800 a day there - nearly 120 an hour = almost 2 per minute. Yep - Henry put America on wheels.
