Blazing Saddles

The Ultimate Western Spoof. A town where everyone seems to be named Johnson is in the way of the railroad. In order to grab their land, Hedley Lemar (Harvey Korman), a politically connected nasty person, sends in his henchmen to make the town unlivable. After the sheriff is killed, the town demands a new sheriff from the Governor (Mel Brooks). Hedley convinces him to send the town the first Black sheriff (Cleavon Little) in the west. Bart is a sophisticated urbanite who will have some difficulty winning over the townspeople

Pretty much every joke in Blazing Saddles pushes the envelope. Everything Mel Brooks creates is, at the very least, on the edge of bad taste which is what makes his work so fun.

"He said the Sheriff is getting nearer"

Or Animal House

Faber College has one frat house so disreputable it will take anyone. It has a second one full of white, anglo-saxon, rich young men who are so sanctimonious no one can stand them except Dean Wormer. The dean enlists the help of the second frat to get the boys of Delta House off campus. The dean's plan comes into play just before the homecoming parade to end all parades for all time.

Bluto received an academy award for his scene in "Food Fight "

Someone should try to write a PC snowflake acceptable Blazing Saddles just to show how far we've gone over the cliff.
Is stand up comedian still a job?

It's a mad mad mad mad world

No brainer.

Funny and clean. A move like that cannot possibly be made ever again. We as Americans just don't have it in us to laugh at the simple stuff anymore....Although, I laugh at the stupid Americans that listened to the polls, and stayed home.

I don't believe ANY film from the '70s-'80s can be remade today with out Hollyweird's PC agenda.

How many movies are enshrined at restaurants? As Ken Young would say - Only in California........
1972
First Crossed Palm Trees Planted
One of founder Harry Snyder's favorite movies, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, features characters racing to find treasure buried under four palm trees planted to resemble the letter W. Because each In-N-Out store is Harry's treasure, a tradition of planting crossed palm trees in front of most In-N-Out locations begins.

Great Trivia!  I'm a huge Mad, Mad, Mad World fan, as well as an In-N-Out lover.  I had no idea the palms were planted in a Big W shape.
