Trying to figure out what happened to the White 67 GT500 ...Lot#1463.1.....never was shown...and has disappeared from the website?... :o

White 1967 GT500 was involved in an accident in the staging lanes. BJ insurance covered it and gave the owner $300,000.

Did not attend the auction this year. Does the KR convertible really sit as high as it appears in the pictures?

It sounds like they gave them what it might have brought at auction. I doubt it was even close to being totaled given it happened in the staging lanes as the report read. Even small damage would taint it from being sold on the auction block because of that accident disadvantage. They probably thought it best to pay them a agreed amount and keep the seller happy . They know how the insurance company will handle it if they turn in a claim . I would be surprised to hear that they even turned in a claim. They can have it fixed (BJ has a inhouse restoration shop) to run it through another time. What with all of the expenses of getting it there ,personal travel expenses ,aggravation and possible diminished value of the car for the world to see It is a reasonable way of handling the situation IMO. Who knows after they fix it and run it through another time they may even make money based on the prices being paid for 67 GT500's these days.

The story I heard was someone remote started a 67 Camaro that was behind the Shelby and ran into it pushing it into an early 60's Corvette.

Thanks for the pic & sounds like they crashed 3 cars all together in the one incident .

Saw some additional pics on facebook.  Looks like the Camaro remote-started and ran into the back of the Shelby and pushed it into the Corvette.
