350 coil bracket

Ford used both styles, which is preferred on early 350?

Tim, yes I agree both were used. With that said the one on the right was always used on big blocks because the cut fit the notch in the intakes so I would use the one on the left if it were my car to avoid controversy .

The left is what I've typically seen on small blocks.

Here is a typical small block coil. Notice the angle of the cut in relation to the bracket .The white adhesive remnants seen on the coil and bracket are from the engine identification paper sticker used on early small blocks.

Would point out since this is in the 67 section that the bracket shown above would not be correct for Thermactor equipped 67 GT350's since the "cut" would be on the wrong side to be mounted on the intake manifold.
