Calling KRANKY
« on: February 14, 2023, 12:29:02 PM »
KRANKY,

I cannot find a listing of Ken Miles in a #60 Cobra in your 1963-65 Race Records, unless I missed it. And there's no description of this cover photo, or credit for it, inside the book.

Can you help me with which chassis # this is, and at which event this photo was taken at?
(the hood vents made me think CSX2002, but I never found anything with it as #60)

Thanks,
Kieth

could the #60 have been photoshopped to signify the 60th anniversary theme?

Possibly - I was taking it literally I guess! Always trying to be a stickler for historical accuracy of my records...

Hopefully Colin chimes in and addresses your suggestion.

Pretty clever.
If so, it got me!!

There's no hood nose gap in the meatball. Looks solid as if bridging over so probably photoshopped.

SunDude most likely nailed it on the #60....the same number font is used in period....as in the link to this photo from the 1963 Dodger Stadium races:
