I seem to remember an advertisement photo of an CHiP with his foot on the rear bumper of a parked '65 GT350 writing a speeding ticket. There wasn't even a driver in the picture.
The caption was something like, "I don't care it is parked, you deserve the ticket", or something to that effect.
When these cars were new and used for everyday transportation, the cops would station themselves on the overpasses and watch traffic. You can see them coming for at least a mile on a clear day?
I think the "Lemans stripe" cars when sold new already had two speeding tickets in the glove box waiting for the new owners to fill in their names?
I do admit though that the hood stripes made the cars at least 20mph faster.
The Grabber Orange is one of my favorite color combinations of all time though. Very nice.
