Just curious, how would you repair that?  Would you use heated Carpet Taped like they use to join two pieces of Carpet together in a Room?

Might use it in a fastback since coupe trunk is deeper.

A tear as a result of a fold in a NOS mat folded n a box mat is all too common of a problem . If they are not cracked along the fold it is hard if not impossible to get rid of the crease from the fold.  Repairing one is a unrealistic expectation . The best repros I have seen are typically of the same quality.The main way you can tell is the texture on backside and that is typically not seen once installed.

Tape it together on the back side and it will look a lot better.
