You want a front seat when Yellowstone blows. When we were there in June a couple years ago we had to buy our grandson a heavy jacket - it was snowing!

I understand we are al finished if Yellowstone blows. Just a matter of lasting a few hours longer if you are farther away from ground zero.

Although it is possible, scientists are not convinced that there will ever be another catastrophic eruption at Yellowstone. Given Yellowstone's past history, the yearly probability of another caldera-forming eruption can be approximated as 1 in 730,000 or 0.00014%.
