Ya'll dont worry it's going into a special marinating tank for a undisclosed time, full of  special (McDonalds advertising line) sauces....

This one, yes this one....will be A-OK

And if not remember that rust makes it much lighter than carbon fiber.....

High end jacuzzi...Would be the only one in the neighborhood....

Half a million dollars for this disaster of a salt-lick?

I hope the buyer has a couple dozen more large stacks of thousand-dollar bills to make it through the "resto" process. Might be cheaper to just scrap and buy another one.

Plus, no matter what all you change, it will NEVER be right.

Do you want to trust your life to a high performance car that's been submerged in salt water, and bounced around by a hurricane?

When you go to sell it, there's still the branded title to deal with.  That'll shorten the list of wanna-be buyers.  No way it'll ever pull the high dollars of a non-submerged version.

I wonder when this guy will have the 3:00AM, wake-up-sweaty, "OH SH!T" moment of reality?

There will be profit - eventually. RE: Gas Monkey Ferrari. This 1991 Ferrari F40 has quite a history behind it, much of it thanks to Richard Rawlings. This resurrected car was featured on Fast N' Loud in 2013, when it was given a new lease on life. It was wrecked in 2011 after a mechanic steered it into a fence, ruining the front end and damaging the chassis. Rawlings' business partner, Dennis Collins, bought the car for $400,000. Rawlings and Aaron Kaufman did a full rebuild, making it straighter, lighter, and faster, and sold it for $643,500. - I think it was a loss they said it took $295 to fix it so it looks like they lost 52 grand on the rebuild - but probably made it up from the TV show profits.

The Gas Monkey F40 was later bought by different owners, one of them being Richard Scott, a Santa Monica parking lot operator. Scott landed himself in trouble having scammed the US Department of Veteran Affairs out of $13 million, and that meant the F40 was seized, among other fancy cars in his collection. Bearing in mind the car's value, it eventually sold through the Apple Towing Company's US Marshals auction in California for $760,000.

Yes we agree that "EVENTUALLY" this and many other vehicles will make someone money.

Like the guy who wants to buy his high school car or something similar.

Or the other guy that gets suckered into buying this really good investment deal.

He chases for the car, buys one that is similar at market price and sometimes gets suckered into paying over market price as this is a special car.

Then goes into the " I'M NEVER EVER GOING TO SELL THIS ONE SYNDROME".

Contacts a restoration (paint and body shop) shop and only wants the very best and everything new on his dream car.
Fast forward to two years later and he has his "DREAM CAR" back in his possession.

Guess what folks a lot happens in two years, the economy changes, your health changes, your marital status changes, your zip code changes, well you get the picture.

That original $50k dollar Camaro, Mustang, VW (you choose the car) that he put in over $100k and is in it for $150k is probably worth $65 to $85k

Plus your loss of time, "NO ONE EVER FACTORS IN THEIR TIME"

Go ahead try to sell your "DREAM CAR"

Let's talk.......
