"Low she sits on five spoke wheels
Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

I wonder how it would sound with an engine with a flat plane crank? It's an interesting sound but I still prefer the 289/302 sound to that of a SBC (or Ferrari).

My race car has 8 into 1 but with "normal" headers (L routed over bell housing) into a single 5" outlet through the side of the body. They had trouble with Laguna Seca noise rules so changed it to 2 4"in 4"out Magnaflow mufflers and dumped the exhaust under the car. They also ran a 8 grand chip for Laguna to keep the noise down.

These still have the 8 into 1 side exhaust but lack the tone of the single 8 into 1 header. I wonder if cubic inches plays a part? Both these cars now run 351 NASCAR engines when in period they were restricted to 313" (mine still has the destroked 310" engine) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0W-a6gSeMas

Sounds unreal for a SBF.   How high is he revving that thing?

That's a sweet setup you have there.

near the end of the video on the dyno it looks like he got it up to 7,000 but at 7,000 it still did not sound like full bore that is on the early track footage so maybe 8,000?  The more I hear it the more I think Porsche 917 as in the movie LeMans with McQueen.

At idle, she sounds more like an American V8 here.

Strange how dramatically the timbre changes at high RPM.
