I bought an early MG powered TVR from Rick Titus. He followed me home and when we got here he said I just can't sell it - so it went back to his garage. Later I bought his 2500M.

1968 TVR Tuscan.

I'll be dog-gone, another TVR guy!   :o  And I really do like the Tuscan for it's V8 heritage (call me if & when you choose to sell yours!  ;D ).

I've got a '76 3000M, but with R.H.D. as these were not imported to the U.S. due to the higher performing (as compared to the 2.5 TR6 engine other wise) 3.0L Ford Essex V6 engine was not emissions accepted in this period time. The 3000M's were produced from 1972 thru 1979 with a total production of 654 units, and with some statements of only 29 being produced in '76, as this was the year it was being supplanted by the Taimar ("hatch-back" model) and with even lesser numbers for next couple of years (perhaps just using up already produced bodies  :-\ ).

I like the styling of this model best, and part of this is due to the stretch administered which also makes it easier for long legged and big footed individuals like myself in their ingress and egress greatly (when the car is this small even a little bit makes a difference!  ::) ). But I've not decided whether or not to just "hop-up" the Essex V6 or to proceed into taking the not uncommonly practiced V8 conversion route? And if so, just which power plant might it adopt?  The S.B.F. is and always has been the most popular choice by others and probably is the most logical choice, and if I went this route is why I have been looking for a set of Gurney Weslake/Eagle cylinder heads (gives it more of a British connection   ::) ).  But then wanting maybe something a little different has me considering other possibilities.  One, and the engine that I think would be perfect from the reasonable performance and low weight (actually even lighter in weight than the current Essex!  :o ) would be the Ford 4.6 Modular 4V (Cobra) N.A. engine, though it is somewhat out of period; but unfortunately with measurements particularly width wise, it looks like a no-go.   :(

     Scott.

A 347 on a C8FE boss block with your choice of heads. G/W with EFI "Webers" could be a consideration?

Aren't you like 6'4" or 5? Are you going to have your legs surgically "modified" to fit into that "thing"?  ;D
